Obeying the law, both in letter and in spirit, is the foundation on which Southern Star’s ethical standards are built. All employees must respect and obey the laws of the cities, states and countries in which we operate, including the statutes governing the operations of natural gas companies and all rules and regulations adopted by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), as well as our FERC approved tariff.
Please call our Ethics Hotline number at 1-800-662-3870 if you have any ethical questions or concerns about Southern Star.
Southern Star is relentlessly focused on safety and compliance. We developed the “Forever Zero” concept to show the protection our safety culture provides for employees, communities and shareholders.
Our Safety Department includes three Certified Safety Professionals with sound experience in safety systems and processes both inside and outside the natural gas industry. Our Safety Awareness Teams (representing the field and headquarters) bring the energy and resources to promote employee participation and safety awareness for employees at work and in every area of their lives.
Company safety goals for 2012 include achieving zero environmental and non-compliance incidents, dedicating one percent of total work hours to safety training, requiring employees to attend at least 90 percent of their location’s monthly safety meetings and averaging at least two “Share a Safety Hazard” reports per employee.
