January 26, 2005, Owensboro, KY
Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline, Inc. (Southern Star) announced
today that it is holding a binding open season from January 26,
2005 to February 25, 2005, for shippers interested in firm natural
gas transportation service created by its proposed Ozark Trails
Expansion Project.
The project proposes
capacity expansion of Southern Star’s
pipeline system in Missouri, Oklahoma and Kansas on the following
line segments:
| |
• Blackwell-Grabham
line (Segment 117) from Blackwell Station to Grabham Station |
| |
• Grabham-Joplin line (Segment
260) from the Grabham Station to Saginaw Station |
| |
• Springfield line (Segment
455) to its terminus near Springfield, MO |
| |
• Jane Line (Segment 423)
from Jane, MO to Saginaw Station |
| |
• Quapaw line (Segment 225)
from Cotton Valley Station to Saginaw Station |
| |
• Grabham-Welda line (Segment
495) Grabham Station to Welda Station |
| |
• Pittsburg line (Segment
215) |
| |
• Southern Trunk – Rangeline
line (Segment 450) |
Southern Star invites
parties interested in additional firm transportation capacity
on these line segments to submit bids
between 8 a.m.
CST on Wednesday, January
26th, and 5 p.m. CST on Friday, February 25th. Open Season bids will be for
firm capacity in Southern Star’s market area.
Depending on the market
demand and requested receipt points, Southern Star anticipates
that the expansion will qualify for
rolled-in rate treatment at
Southern Star’s
maximum tariff rates in its Market Area. However, Southern Star reserves the
right to change the actual rates offered depending on shipper interest and
final costs. If sufficient market support is obtained in the open season, Southern
Star would seek approval for the expansion from the FERC. Southern Star anticipates
service for the expansion to begin as early as fourth-quarter 2006.
"Natural gas demand
continues to increase throughout Southwest Missouri. Traditional
local distribution
markets, Greenfield
distribution markets and the electric
generation market are driving this growth. This expansion is another example
of our commitment to help Southwest Missouri improve its economy and quality
of life through greater utilization of clean-burning natural gas,” said
Jerry Morris, President and Chief Operating Officer for Southern Star.
