Southern Star recently unveiled plans for its new corporate headquarters in Owensboro, Kentucky. The facility is designed to be very open, light-filled, and multi-functional. Construction began in October and work is well underway.

Christopher Lee, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board for Southern Star, said the new headquarters is a milestone in Southern Star's history. "The headquarters will be a landmark in Owensboro, and is a landmark for Southern Star."

Southern Star Central Corp. is owned by AIG Highstar, a private equity fund sponsored by AIG. Edward Matthews, Chairman of AIG Highstar's Investment Committee, stated that AIG's approach is to get behind its investments. "We like to show a sense of permanence and commitment to the communities in which we have businesses. What better way to do so than to build a corporate headquarters? This demonstrates that we're here to stay. We look forward to a long, dynamic, successful relationship with Southern Star and the Owensboro community."

The building will be completed and employees relocated into their new offices by October 2004
