Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners Acquires 40% Economic Stake and 50% Voting Stake in Southern Star Central Corp.

Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS) announced today that its dedicated infrastructure group, Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners, will acquire a 40 percent economic stake and a 50 percent voting stake in Southern Star Central Corp., parent company of Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline (Southern Star), an interstate natural gas pipeline and storage operation servicing the Midwest region of the U.S.  Southern Star is the primary gas transmission and storage facility provider for several major Midwest cities and power generation providers. Southern Star serves the major metropolitan areas of Kansas City, Springfield, St. Louis, St. Joseph and Joplin, Missouri; and Kansas City, Wichita, Topeka and Lawrence, Kansas. Southern Star Announces Expansion of Firm Storage Service and Firm Transportation Service

Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline, Inc. (Southern Star) announces today the expansion of its Firm Storage Service and Firm Transportation Service. Southern Star has received numerous requests over the years for new storage service due to the fully-subscribed status of its existing firm storage service. Southern Star had a successful open season earlier this year to expand its existing storage capacity by 4,000,000 Dth, with an increase in daily deliverability of 40,000 Dth/d. On October 9, Southern Star filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for authorization to build the facilities necessary for this storage expansion at its Elk City Gas Storage Field near Independence, Kansas. more>>

Southern Star Announces Open Season for Additional Firm Storage Service

Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline, Inc. (Southern Star) announces the commencement of a Storage Open Season to solicit binding bids for new Firm Storage Service. Southern Star has modified the proposed Storage Expansion Project that was proposed in the Open Season conducted from January 12, 2009 to February 20, 2009. Southern Star has determined that with this Open Season it can construct facilities to expand its existing storage capacity by a minimum of 4,000,000 Dth, with an increase in daily deliverability of a minimum of 40,000 Dth/d. more>>

Philip Rullman Named Director, Commercial Services

Philip Rullman has been named Director, Commercial Services, reporting to Jerry Morris, effective immediately.  Philip, who has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Baker University, brings almost 30 years of experience to this new position.  Philip started his career with Southern Star in 1979 as a Technician.  He progressed through the Technician ranks and was named Supervisor, Storage Operations in 1993. He became Area Supervisor in 1994 and was named Supervisor, Operations Control in 1995.  After a four-month stint as Manager, Employee Relations & Safety in 1997, he was named Manager, Gas Management.  Philip’s experience in customer services continued when he transitioned into the Manager, Customer Service & Business Development role in 2005. more>>

(Southern Star) announced today that it is developing a new interstate natural gas delivery project that will provide incremental deliveries of up to 100,000 Dth/d to Enogex, Inc. (Enogex), into their East Rate Zone near their Perry Compressor Station in Noble County, Oklahoma. Southern Star is conducting a Binding Open Season from January 14, 2008 to February 11, 2008 to solicit expressions of interest for Firm Transportation Service (FTS) for this project. The Perry Delivery Project will provide convenient access to mid-continent gas supply sources for Enogex customers and provide additional gas supplies that can be transported across Enogex. more>>
